Termites

Termites (order Isoptera) are wood-eating insects that pose a serious threat to homes and businesses. They're social insects that live in colonies, and each colony is ruled by a queen. She can lay hundreds of eggs daily, and by some estimates, a queen termite can live up to 20 years.

Worker termites are responsible for feeding the colony and are the only members that actually eat wood. They're constantly searching for cellulose, the material found in wood, and once they've fed, they return to the colony to feed the others.

Worker termites forage daily, and it's through this process that they find cellulose, whether it's a stick on the ground, a stack of paper, or the walls of your home or office. Termites are always on the march for a sustainable food source.

Through a gap as small as 1/64th of an inch, termites can invade your home. Once inside, they tunnel their way in, secretly destroying wood from the inside out. Termites don't just damage wood; they eat away at your peace of mind.
